Cain Transferred to the first floor of the ruins and walked leisurely along the cobblestones towards the exit.

Initially, he had wanted to go straight back to his mansion, but remembering that his name had been noted down at the reception, he returned to the first floor instead.

Arriving at the exit a couple minutes later, Cain saw the sun for the first time in a few hours.

“Ahhhh, the weather’s nice.”

Cain stretched, then headed towards the reception.

When he entered the reception, he found a very worried receptionist waiting for him. However, seeing Cain, the receptionist’s cheeks loosened, obviously relieved.

“Cain-kun, you’re safe. Thank goodness… I heard from a party that returned earlier that a child had reached the tenth floor on his own and was quite surprised.”

Hearing that the members of the Silverwolf’s Fang had returned unharmed, Cain too was relieved. He then stated that he had left the dungeon at the reception, then exited the building.

He went outside, where it turned out that the members of the Silverwolf’s Fang were loading a cart with monster materials to take back to the town.

And one of said members of the party, Airi, noticing Cain, waved to him with a huge smile. The other members of the party followed Airi’s gaze, and, seeing and recognizing Cain, they also seemed to smile a bit.

“Cain-kun! You’re safe. We just got back here. We’re going to be going back to Drintor now. Let’s go together!”

Airi ran up to Cain and hugged him out of nowhere.

“Airi! Isn’t she annoying? You made it down to that floor. You’re stronger than us… aren’t you?”

Destra also approached them from behind and told Airi to stop.

“Indeed!”

Airi nodded at Destra’s words and let go of Cain.

“Cain, thanks for saving us back there. We’re just about to return to Drintor. Wanna come along with us?”

“Ummmm…”

Cain could return to the town on his own in an instant with Transfer, so he didn’t need to bother with carts and such, but he gave in soon enough to Airi’s aggressive persuasion, and so he was to accompany them back.

The road was made out of cobblestones now, so there was also a company that operated a stagecoach which ran regularly, which Cain also got onto after Destra paid. The coach had enough room for around ten people, and behind it, a cart carrying materials the adventurers had gathered was attached. They proceeded towards the town in that fashion.

“We heard some rumours and moved our base of operations to this town, and man was it the right choice. We’ll have a good drink after this again.”

One of the party’s members said, looking forward to a party they were going to have in the town.

“Yeah, we only came to this town a month ago, but there’s a huge difference to our earning compared to when we were in the other town.”

Destra nodded as well.

“Yesyes, and the public order’s good as well! And we adventurers receive a lot of support too, it’s the best!”

Airi also nodded along.

Cain nodded, satisfied. He had chucked most of the town’s management at Alec, so Cain smiled a little, hearing how Alec was running things well.

“But still, Cain-kun, high-rank magic at your age? Won’t you become a member of our party?”

Airi tried to invite Cain into the party, but he shook his head.

“I might be an adventurer, but I only happened to be in Drintor today by chance, I’m normally in the royal capital. So, I’m very sorry, but––”

The other members of the party looked disappointed, and Destra too tried to dissuade Airi.

“Airi, Cain is stronger than any of us. We’re too weak to team up with him.”

Airi made a slightly gloomy expression at Destra’s words.

“Cain, with your strength, I’m guessing you’re already a high-rank adventurer? If that weren’t the case, you wouldn’t be allowed to enter a dungeon at your age. Not to mention doing so alone…”

Cain nodded silently at Destra’s words. He had no intention of showing them his A-Rank guild card.

As they were talking, the coach had arrived at Drintor’s west gate.

A young guard at the gate was confirming everyone’s identities via their guild cards before letting them pass.

“You can go through, next!”

The members of the Silverwolf’s Fang each showed him their C-Rank guild cards before passing through the gate. Cain went right after them.

Not having a choice in the matter, Cain took out his A-Rank guild card and showed it to the guard.

“Yes next! Wait a minute, is that card your––”

A-Rank adventurers accounted for less than 1% of all adventurers. As such, they were rare even in Drintor, a town of adventurers. Not to mention, a child taking out an A-Rank card was unthinkable.

The young guard became suspicious, and stopped Cain. At that moment, the guard captain, who had been observing everything, ran up to them.

“Just let that kid pass.”

“B-But––”

“It’s fine, let him pass.”

“––Understood.”

Thus, while he was not entirely convinced, the young guard let Cain pass. Cain bowed lightly to the guard captain, thanking him for his consideration. The guard captain also bowed lightly in return, albeit with a bit of trepidation.

The guard captain knew about Cain, but had been told by Alec to treat him the same as everyone else when he was being an adventurer. Thinking it would cause quite the commotion if it was found out that Cain was the lord of the territory, he had gone and stopped the guard.

Of course, when the guard captain gave an explanation to the young guard later, he exclaimed out loud when he found out that the true identity of that child had been the lord of the territory.

“Cain-kun, let’s go to the guild together to cash in the monster materials.”

Holding hands with Airi for some reason, Cain, doubting he would be allowed to refuse, gave in and nodded.

As they had defeated an upper-B-Rank Minotaur this time around, the Silverwolf’s Fang seemed to have high expectations regarding the cash they would be getting for it.

Pulled along by Airi, who was still holding his hand for some reason, they arrived at the adventurers’ guild.

Opening the door, Airi walked through the guild’s hall, unworried.

Being dragged along by Airi, many jealous gazes gathered on Cain.

Indeed, Airi was a considerably beautiful woman.

Destra and Airi went towards the reception, while the rest of the party headed towards the bar in the annex of the guild.

And, as Airi was still holding Cain’s hand, Cain too headed towards the reception.

“We’d like to cash in monster materials we gathered. They’re from a Minotaur from the tenth floor.”

Destra triumphantly declared to the receptionist lady. Cheers came from the surroundings at the fact that they had defeated a Minotaur, which was also called the mid-level boss.

Cain also said he had defeated a Minotaur, and was also given an exchange ticket for the material storage space.

The material storage space behind the guild was where the buying, dismantling and distribution of the monsters the adventurers had defeated happened.

Cain accompanied the Silverwolf’s Fang to the material storage space, where the guild staff told him to place the monster materials in a designated spot.

The Silverwolf’s Fang’s members laid their monster materials down on their designated spot in a practised manner.

Naturally, as they didn’t possess Item Boxes or Magic Bags, they only put down the materials that would sell for the most money.

However, as all parts of a Minotaur sold for a high price, they even put the parts that had been cut up down on their spot. The Minotaur’s skin was reddish-brown in colour, making it look quite ordinary.

“What… It’s a different colour…”

Cain muttered as he looked at the materials on the ground.

Having finished unloading her party’s materials, Airi returned to Cain.

“What? Cain-kun, your monster materials?”

“Ummm… Welllll…”

Worried about what he should do but having no choice, Cain took out his dead Minotaur.

Making it look like he had taken it out of a Magic Bag, Cain produced the monster materials.

And a Minotaur with both a size and skin colour very different to that of the one defeated by the Silverwolf’s Fang appeared.

“““““……”””””

“This is a Minotaur, right…?”

Both the guild staff member in charge of the dismantling and the adventurers became speechless at seeing the headless Minotaur as Cain asked them a question fearfully.

Finally, Cain placed the Minotaur’s severed head back above its body.

“Th-This is… a high-ranked species of the Minotaur, a Minotaur Org! That’s S-Rank materials! Someone, quick, go call the guild master!!”

The guild staff working on other things also suspended their activities and went over to take a peek at the rarely seen materials, their eyes shining. A junior member of the staff ran off to call the guild master.

“What, S-Rank…!?”

“They’re real…”

Guild staff members and adventurers crowded around the Minotaur Org’s materials.

Cain wanted to escape, but Airi had firmly caught him by the arm.

Soon enough, the guild master rushed in to the material storage space.

“S-Rank materials, you say…? Is that true!?”

Rikisetsu also exclaimed, impressed, having now seen the S-Rank materials with his own eyes.

The materials weren’t scratched at all, except for the single, clean cut through the neck. As such, the materials would fetch a high price indeed. Then, Rikisetsu saw Cain, who had defeated the monster.

“Ah, Lord-sa––”

“Guild master!! I have other materials too, so could we please hold a meeting!”

Cain interrupted Rikisetsu in order to stop him from revealing that he was the lord of the territory, then, walking up to him, he whispered.

“Please don’t call me the lord here. I’m Cain, an adventurer.”

“––Got it, Lord-dono. I’ll do that.”

The two of them held a short conversation under their breaths, then nodded to each other.

“Anyway, what a splendid Minotaur Org. I’ve never seen one in such a good condition as this one. –– and the Lor…no, Cain-dono…”

Rikisetsu muttered while gazing at the materials.

Then, Cain said to Rikisetsu quietly.

“I actually have materials from monsters from the fifteenth floor, and way more than this… Obviously, I can’t just take them out here, can I…”

Naturally, Cain was not going to take the more than one hundred Earth Dragons and the over-twenty-meters large Rock Dragon in the midst of all these guild staff members and adventurers.

“––right, then let’s hear about that in private.”

Turning around, Rikisetsu glanced over the staff members and adventurers, then told them to get lost.

“With just these materials alone, it might take a bit of time, is that okay?”

Cain nodded at Rikisetsu’s question. Originally, he had taken out the Minotaur Org’s materials stealthily, but now, he had been caught by Airi and the others. Naturally, he wasn’t going to take out any more of the materials he had collected, though.

“Cain-kun, these are S-Rank materials!? Did they come from that dungeon!? If this appeared when we were there…”

Airi, who was still nearby, trembled, remembering when her party had fought with a normal Minotaur.

“Yes, that’s right… It appeared in that boss room.”

The other members of the party paled at those words. If they had had bad luck and that thing had appeared when they were in the room, they would certainly have been annihilated.

“I have things to talk about with the guild master now, so…”

He wanted to talk to Rikisetsu once they had all left, but then a receptionist lady came running up to them.

“Guild master, you have a guest. Wha– …aah, Lord-sama!! Please excuse me!”

The receptionist lady was Ness, and her words stopped everyone’s movements.

“““““L-Lord-sama!?”””””

Ness blurted out what Cain and Rikisetsu had been silent about.

“Lord-sama, deputy governor Baron Alec has come to visit, but would you also like to meet with him?”

And then she followed up with another one.

Both Cain and Rikisetsu heaved huge sighs at her words.

TN: alright people, Ness is the model airhead, if you have any questions, just ask her. Class dismissed

  1. nah that’s his mistake, he should have made it clear long before to the guild master to call him the lord when doing adventurer job.

  3. Most likely there is a guildhouse wide memo and she aint the type to read memos. Otherwise she would have not made the mistake of not knowing Cain.

  4. Thanks for the chapter!!
I was laughing my ass off at Airi escorting Cain as if he was just a small child, and Cain just like “I don’t know why she’s doing this but I ain’t complaining”
And I mean, Ness was just scolded for treating Cain as a small child, of course if that happened to me I would make sure to call him by his title to avoid getting scolded, it’s obvious no one told her anything about hiding his identity as a Lord.

        1. it’s probably because the town’s population is now over double what it was back then; so there’s a looooooooot of new adventurers, who then in turn don’t know about Cain

they might have heard rumours about some ‘silver devil’ (or whatever it was lol), but they wouldn’t know who that was as Cain hadn’t been in the guild for a while
