Leline would be staying in Drintor for a little while.

During that time, as she and Alec had eaten together and done other such things, Alec had been convinced.

Lagett’s group of four also decided to stay in Drintor for a while, and decided to spend their time fulfilling simple requests from the guild.

They went to the guild first thing in the morning, accompanied by Cain.

“Woooow, that inn Cain introduced us to is really good! Both the rooms and the cafeteria are clean, and Enaku-chan’s cute as well! It’s the best!”

The other three nodded at the smiling Ninalee’s words.

“Cain, you’re an adventurer here, right? What kind of requests are there in the guild?”

“A lot of them are monster subjugation or escort requests. There are also requests from merchants from the royal capital, as the east gate now leads straight to the forest, where monsters tend to appear a lot. Also, further in, there’s a dungeon.”

“A dungeon huh… I’ve never been to one before, but I’d like to try challenging one one day. Could you guide us there when the time comes?”

Cain made a slightly troubled face at Lagett’s question.

“If I have the free time, then sure, but I’m usually in the royal capital. I mean… I am still a student after all…”

“Oh yeah… you’re still at the age where you have to go to school. Well, it’s fine whenever, really. We’ll just do some hunting in the forest until then.”

Cain nodded. There was a Black Dragon in the depths of the dungeon.

Cain didn’t think the four were strong enough to reach the very depths of the dungeon, and while he had told the dragon not to attack humans, he had also told it that it was fine if it retaliated to protect itself if attacked.

Talking about the types of monsters in the forest, the five of them arrived at the guild.

Opening the door and going inside, the hall inside was packed with adventurers due to it being the morning.

There were some people who were discussing which requests to take while looking at the request board, and some people who were talking to the receptionists. As the town prospered, more adventurers from other towns also came.

As they entered the hall, all gazes focused on them for a second, with the people’s reactions being clearly divided in two.

Adventurers who had only recently moved to Drintor looked away, quickly losing interest at a party with a child in it.

The rest were ones who knew of Cain’s exploits and looked straight down, trying not to make eye contact.

Among them, the ones who had witnessed Cain’s true strength first-hand began trembling.

Cain pretending not to notice all of that, went over to the request board.

Lagett and co. were still D-Rank. They only had a limited number of requests they could accept.

The four of them had a short discussion, then took a single request sheet from the board and looked over it again. Cain watched them from behind.

“Move over, you brat! You’re in the way there!”

Turning around, Cain saw three adventurers in bad moods standing there. Two swordsmen and one magic user, all in their mid-twenties, with stubbly chins and breaths that smelled of alcohol, which they had most likely drunk the day before, snarled at Cain. They likely hadn’t heard of him before, as when Cain turned around, their expressions didn’t change a bit.

“What’re you staring at…? Go back to the gutter you came from, you brat!”

“The gutter you came from, ah that’s a masterpiece bro! Ahahahaha!”

Cain also chuckled unintentionally. From the perspective of someone who didn’t know Cain, they would never think that some young kid was the ‘Silver Devil’, the worst being in the town.

Cain just said ‘Go ahead’, and moved off to the side.

Seeing that, adventurers who knew Cain whispered ‘Oh they’re so dead.’ to each other.

The three of them, now feeling better, moved up to the bulletin board and, after a short discussion, glanced at Lagett’s party.

The four of them were already adults. And, while they were still in their teens, both Ninalee and Mine were attractive women.

Their eyes glued to the two, the party of three went to get mixed up with them just as they had done with Cain.

“Oy, you two young ladies there. Stop hanging around with such brats and do some requests with us. Well take care of you day and night.”

Ninalee scowled. However, Lagett instantly stepped in front of her and Mine to protect them.

“You’re not wanted here old man. They’re in our party. Why don’t you three men go hunt and have fun together on your own? That seems to suit you better, doesn’t it?”

It was Lagett’s principle to give fights to people looking for one. Such an event had occurred at the staging outpost on the way to Drintor from the royal capital.

However, the three men became furious at Lagett’s words.

“You brat… now you’ve gone and said it. We’ll educate those two and use them effectively…”

To the adventurers who were slowly closing in, a voice called out from a completely unexpected place.

“That’s enough! If you make any more of a scene inside the guild, you will be punished!”

A woman’s voice rang out in the hall, making everyone look at her.

Standing there was an angry Letia, both her hands on her hips.

However, while Letia might have been the sub-guild master, to people who didn’t know that, she seemed like just a beautiful guild employee.

But, the three men didn’t know that, so they weren’t going to do as she said. They grinned, looking at Letia as if licking her whole body.

“What is it, miss? Will you hang out with us as well? We don’t mind.”

“Haha, true that. She seems old, but she still looks good enough.”

At those words from the men, Letia’s expression changed.

“––––Who did you say ‘Seemed old’…?”

For Letia, her age was the one thing that would not be touched upon.

Thinking that this would not end well upon seeing Letia’s expression, Cain decided to stop them.

*clap* *clap*

While the others were nearly in open conflict, Cain clapped his hands loudly.

“Just end this already. Any more, and they’ll have to take away your guild cards or send you to the guard station’s cells to cool your heads down.”

However, there was no way they would listen to the words of some kid.

Sighing at the adventurers who still hadn’t stopped, Cain glanced at Letia.

“Cain-sama, do whatever. I think they need to reflect upon their actions a little.”

Said Letia, having slightly calmed down at Cain’s words.

At that, –– the adventurers in the surroundings, who had been nervously holding their breaths, all ran away.

“Run away! If we stay here, it’s gonna be baaad!”

“Really really bad… let’s go!”

The adventurers who knew Cain all ran away. The guild staff also all stopped working and ran away.

The adventurers who didn’t know what was going on pointed at the ones running away, laughing, saying ‘Why are they running away from such a fun event?’.

Then, they got to experience the reason the others had all run away first-hand.

Cain nodded, and his killing intent filled the hall. If he had gone all-out, everyone in the hall would have fainted. So, he adjusted it to only be a moderate amount.

The knees of the adventurers who had been looking for trouble gave out at being bathed in that killing intent. The adventurers who had been laughing just a little earlier also started trembling from fear.

“…This is why I told you to stop…”

“W-what what is t-this…”

“What is this brat…?”

Cain withdrew his killing intent soon enough, then smiled at them.

“Letia-san is this guild’s sub-guild master. You got that? What that means…?”

The adventurers, who had fallen to the ground, stood up once Cain’s killing intent had disappeared, and, as if not comprehending in the slightest what those words had meant, switched their target to Cain.

“How is it okay to release your killing intent just because you were a little annoyed!!”

“She’s the sub-guild master, so she abused her power!!”

“Right! Punish that brat!!”

The three started criticising Cain, and then even Letia sighed at their unbelievable stupidity.

“Cain-sama, your guild card. They have to understand who they just made their enemy. Also, we have no need for such idiots in our town.”

Doing as he was told, Cain took his guild card out of his pocket and gave it to Letia. A glittering, platinum proof that he was S-Rank.

“So, you people, –– do you think it’s okay to pick a fight with an S-Rank adventurer?”

At those words, they stopped.

As expected, even adventurers with absolutely zero comprehension skills could understand how strong someone was based on their guild rank.

S-Rank people were recognized by the country itself, and had enough power to fight Natural-Disaster-Class monsters.

The men’s eyes widened, and they ran away as fast as they could while screaming ‘We’re sorryyyyyyyyyyy!’.

“…N-no way… that’s the ‘Silver Devil’ who lives in this town…”

The trembling adventurers in the surroundings said to each other in small voices.

“Cain-sama, thank you very much. They’ll probably leave the town by tomorrow. Honestly…”

Cain gave a bitter smile to Letia, whose anger still hadn’t subsided.

“––––H-how is Cain-kun… S-Rank…!?”

Cain turned to look at the source of the voice.

It was Lagett’s party of four, who were still sitting on the ground.

“Oh, I forgot…”

Remembering he had been trying to keep it a secret, but had now failed, Cain facepalmed and looked up at the heavens.
