Unfazed, Lisabeth made a happy expression at Cain’s return.

And then, there was Telestia’s trio, who were speechless upon seeing her.

“C-Cain-sama… d-don’t tell me, another woman…”

Simultaneously with Telestia’s words, the trio sent cold gazes towards Cain.

“No, this is… Ah, Silk! Silk, you know who she is, don’t you…?”

Silk looked a little troubled, then made a surprised expression when she looked at the girl’s face.

“Cain-kun, i-is this girl… by any chance… from back then…?”

Cain nodded.

“Hey, Silk. It’s not fair that only you two know! Please tell me too!”

“I would also like to know…”

Cain gave up and sighed loudly when the two of them started pestering Silk.

“I’ll tell you, so calm down. Lisabeth, could you sit down as well, please.”

“Hm…? What is it? All right.”

Lisabeth sat down next to Cain, and not seeming to really care about the other three, took some of the sweets on the table.

“The sweets in this mansion are as delicious as always.”

Giving a sidewards glance at Lisabeth, who was eating the sweets with a smile on her face, Cain started speaking.

“Actually, it would probably be quickest if you just saw this…”

Cain took out a mask from his Item Box and placed it on the table.

“…What’s this…? I feel like I’ve seen it before somewhere… Ah! Don’t tell me…”

“Don’t tell me, from back then…?”

Telestia and Liltana seemed to have guessed.

“Yes yes, it’s the mask of that mysterious person who appeared in the arena back in Ilstin!”

Silk laughed, amused.

“So then, the woman sitting next to him is…”

“Yeah, that’s right. Lisabeth, could you please show them what you look like for a second?”

“I guess I have no choice. It seems that you trust these three, Cain…”

Lisabeth nodded at Cain’s words and muttered a spell.

At that moment, she started glowing, and her previous appearance with five horns returned.

“So she is the demon from back then after all…”

Having found out Lisabeth’s true identity, Telestia and Liltana became a little nervous.

Cain had a number of acquaintances among the demons, so he had no prejudice against them at all.

However, the rest of the world thought differently.

Every single demon had an incredible amount of magical power, and it was said that a single one could destroy a city alone.

“You do not have to be so vigilant. I am not particularly hostile toward humans. Especially since Cain is my friend.”

Laughing, Lisabeth once again chanted her magic, and started eating sweets again as her form indiscernible from a human’s returned.

“Cain-sama, could you please tell us why you saved her…?”

Telestia asked after taking a deep breath.

“I have a few acquaintances among the demons, so originally, I flew into the arena just due to feelings of wanting to save her. But then––”

Cain explained that he had protected Lisabeth and brought her to Drintor.

“Then, and although I only found this out later, it seems like Lisabeth is the Imperial Princess of the country of demons…”

Telestia and the other two’s expressions suddenly became grim at those words.

“…Don’t tell me, if that adventurer had seriously wounded Lisabeth-san back then…”

“Yeah, it would probably –– have led to an all-out war between humans and demons.”

The three of them gulped at Cain’s words.

Humans versus non-humans. Demons versus humans. It was easy to imagine what huge chaos would occur in all the countries if large numbers of demons, one of whom alone could destroy a city, were sent in.

The Republic of Ilstin, which had started it all, and its neighbouring countries would all likely be attacked.

Cain had acted on the spur of the moment, but as a result of his actions, war had been avoided.

“All right. Then, as a member of the royal family of Esfort, I will have Lisabeth-sama officially protected in the royal castle.”

Declared Telestia, standing up and grasping Lisabeth’s hand strongly.

“Yes? I do not plan on moving from here though? This is Cain’s residence, is it not… But before that, you are royalty as well?”

The three of them realized they hadn’t introduced themselves yet as Lisabeth tilted her head.

“We haven’t introduced ourselves yet, have we. I am Telestia Tera Esfort, the third princess of the Kingdom of Esfort, Cain-sama’s country. I am also Cain-sama’s fiancée.”

“I’m next. I am Silk von Santana, a duke’s daughter from the same nation. I am also Cain-kun’s fiancée.”

“Umm… I’m Liltana van Baisas, the sixth Imperial Princess of the neighbouring Baisas Empire. As for my relation to Cain-sama…”

Telestia had emphasised the word ‘fiancée’, and Silk had also smiled along. Then, Liltana had introduced herself, slightly nervous.

At that self-introduction, Lisabeth seemed to have been convinced of something, and, giving Cain a sideways glance, smiled.

“It seems like you three really like Cain. And two of you are even his fiancées. Then, I shall also introduce myself.”

Lisabeth stood up and cleared her throat.

“I am the imperial princess of the ‘Benestos Demon Empire’, Lisabeth van Benestos. I went on a journey around the world to learn, but… Various things happened, I became a slave, and then Cain saved me, which is how I arrived here.”

Having introduced herself, she sat back down and reached for the sweets again.

“I’m planning on sending her back to her country after she’s rested a little here.”

“Indeed, although I would like to take Cain as my partner… However, I have my own duties to fulfil, so I must return eventually.”

However, the other three didn’t miss that one word.

“Cain-sama… don’t tell me you’re intending on increasing the number of your fiancées again…?”

“Cain-kun, this really is a little… It’ll turn into an international problem.”

“––One day, I too…”

Cain reflexively smiled bitterly at the three’s words.

Lisabeth was indeed a beautiful girl, but she was a demon and an imperial princess. There was no way she would be able to marry a human nobleman even if he wanted it. Moreover, Cain already had three, no, counting the Saint, four fiancées.

Cain frantically explained to the three, trying to convince them.

Cain was liberated when Koran came to call him to advise with the meal preparations again, making him finally able to stop having to explain.

And, as he had frantically explained, Lisabeth had just innocently eaten sweets next to him.

  1. Wait. Now that I think about it, did Cain tell the king about Liz? I can see that coming up soon when the kings daughter talks to him when they get back.

  2. Who does that stupid princess thinks she is? By princess, I refer to teles. She said that as a member of a royal family, she would take Lisa under her protection, not even asking if Lisa really wants that. And makes it sound like her Royal palace is more safe. Please Cain, I hope you annul your engagement with her, rather sooner than later.

  3. didn’t he just fucked up and massively? he just confessed to the other 2 and the girl of the enemy country, that he can transfer?

    1. Yes he did. As far as the enemy country goes he could just destroy it and nobody could stop him.

  4. Well, credit for actually giving them a straight answer and not trying to cover it up.

Incidentally, it is pretty reasonable that they didn’t recognise her immediately. They only saw her from the audience seating, a lot of surprising things have happened since thst slightly weird incident, and she’s currently hiding the characteristics that indicate her identity as a demon.

It’s worth remembering that most fantasy worlds have some kind of genetic compatibility rule based on how “close” the humanoid species are, as if there’s a common ancestor or something, which there isn’t most of the time.
Dwarves and elves are treated as really close to humans in most regards and get moderate cross breeding success, even when the two get written as low compatibility with each other.
Beast-kin humanoids regularly get written as being highly compatible with humans even though that makes no sense since their genetics code a bunch of wildly different body structures, like do you end up with one chromosome for ears on head and one for ears on the side and hope the genes for growing your sinuses figure out what to do?
Demons, usually described as “human like, with extra parts, but not human”, somehow end up as perfectly compatible or completely incompatible in some works, which is loopy since they tend to not be related at all yet have fewer major body differences than beast-kin.
And dragons! How is that meant to work?! Fine, they used magic to make themselves humanoid, but that doesn’t explain the utterly incompatible genetics. Same applies to any shapeshifter/poloymorph/humanised species, are they blanket rewriting their DNA to take human form? Do they have a normal human genome with a bunch of optional extras they can bolt on to the offspring genome like an after market spoiler on a car? (I just typoed that as cat and was really tempted to leave it, given the context)
Sure you can excuse it all through magic and plot, but I demand reasonable biological plausibility! Or failing that, show me where this super advanced, multiverse spanning, secret IVF clinic is hidden.
Complete insanity I tell you! Who even comes up with this stuff?! … Don’t answer thst ¬_¬

    1. I’m actually getting a bit tired of how one-dimensional his women have become. Even moreso than their first appearances where they immediately fell in love with him.

If they ever see him with any sort of positive or at least non-hostile interaction with another woman suddenly Teles freaks out about him running around behind her back intentionally collecting more wives. Silk just accepts +1 wife happily. Lil’ pines for being the next wife even though supposedly the next one is right in front of her and she’s just never getting picked, as if cucking a little girl was funny.

This story has a lot of potential that is just constantly being wasted by poorly-contrived romance plots that aren’t really plots at all but more of a running gag, and far-too-often repeated with no actual progression in emotional bonding. The author comes off as never having had a relationship or gotten close to another human being emotionally.

Meanwhile, Cain’s stats are being ignored. Given the difference from one stat point to another, his are so high that he should be having to restrain his every single action to prevent teamkills and random destruction. Yet apparently these relatively normal enemies he faces could threaten him unless he’s using body-reinforcement magic?

An extinction-level meteor should bounce right off his head and shatter. What good will a knife do for thugs trying to stab or cut him?

      1. Ehtoooo …
I can kinda understand why Teles and Silk are so worried, they didn’t exactly have to work hard to get him to agree, and poor low-screen-time elf-chan got an agreement just by getting beaten up, which they only found out after the engagement had been agreed to.
        Then they’ve got
        – Palma who’s been making hearts at Cain for longer than they’ve known him,
        – the saint that shows up and claims a divine mandate to marry,
        – Lil with her crush from before they met him,
        – the girl he randomly bought and freed who seems weirdly close to him,
        – the demon princess who seems entirely too comfortable running around his castle.

They’re too young to formally marry, too young to get their *ahem* “physical claim” to him, and they’re on shaky ground for any “I got to him first” claim… it’s hard for them to even call rank since they’ve got princesses trying to join.

It’s a general rule that the only way a polygamy structure holds stable is if the wives can establish a hierarchy between themselves that they can agree on, it doesn’t really matter what structure it is … Isekai Smartphone’s 9 seem to be running things on an equal and democratic basis with Yumina as spokeswoman. Teles is jittery because she’d normally be in the seat of first wife, Silk because she’d be happy to hang on to second seat. When you have a hubby that quietly grabbed a third waifu quickly after getting engaged to them, when they couldn’t even announce that engagement…

Yeah, I’d say Cain’s entirely responsible for making them feel paranoid about improbable women appearing and becoming threats. Doubly so when you remember that the two of them don’t know the contents of his status.

As for his stats… the best way to think of it is that his strength isn’t a fixed number, normal humans have the ability to use an amount of strength less than their absolute maximum… he has inhuman stats at one end, but the low end probably didn’t go up the same amount… day to day he’d feel stronger, but not beyond the kind of scope normal humans have to deal with when adjusting their actions to an increase in strength.
I would guess, though I could be wrong, that the spells you mention are to fine tune how much he’s applying.

        1. I really don’t see how getting more and more fiancees is Cain’s fault. He has had no say whatsoever in any of his engagements; they were all forced upon him.
I just hope he gives a middle finger to all these girls and goes into seclusion with the classmate girl he saved back on Earth who I’m certain will be summoned as the Hero.

    1. It’s probably a quote on what common sense in that world, on how a Non-human princess can’t basically marry someone from another species (Humans) Nobility.

But since Cain is beyond common sense he’s probably gonna add Lisabeth to his harem since the Demon Lord (Cain’s summon, forgot his name) is probably gonna force Cain to marry her lol.

      1. Huh?! First, that Demon Lord submitted to Cain. There’s no way he’d even try to force him. Second, Demon Lord is a general. His rank is BELOW royalty. It’s comparable to a Duke, I believe. Third, Cain is an Apostle. Technically speaking, he’s the highest-ranking creature within that world, other than the evil god (the other gods do not enter that world, just look over it). That Demon Lord also knows that.

        1. Main problem is it is on different country than different species. Succession would be messy if medieval history would be used as reference. The elf princess is fine since it is within the same kingdom and while the saint is another country they are not nobles .

Another problem is by marrying another country princess they basically saying their countries became allies and that alone would make other countries nervous especially those who fear demon kingdom.

          1. And same with Liltana and Saint – imperial princess of human’s empire and Saint. Both of them gives alliance with superpowers.
