“We use transfer magic on them all at once, of course…”

Tifana also knew that Cain could use the legendary transfer magic.

Only a very few people knew that fact in the Kingdom, and it had been explained to her as commander of the royal knights by the king.

However, while she had thought ‘It is Cain, after all…’ when it had been explained to her, she knew that Transferring several people consumed extraordinary amounts of magical power.

However, nobody there could comprehend when he said he would Transfer hundreds of people, cage and all, all at once.

However, naturally, he couldn’t do that in front of the teachers and students.

The students had already gotten down from the prisoner transport vehicle they had boarded for their own protection.

Seeing the hundreds of attackers, their expressions darkened.

While the attackers had been repelled and the danger was over, one wrong step and the students’ fates could still change.

Telestia and the others, having disembarked from the prisoner transport bus, went over to Cain while keeping an eye on the tied-up attackers.

“Cain-sama, what was this attack…?”

Cain thought he had to speak with Telestia and Silk, so he asked Liltana to leave them for a little bit.

“Actually,––––”

Cain explained in simple terms how Marquis Corgino and Baldo from the Esfortean side, and former MP Malph from the Ilstin side had colluded with each other and attempted the attack.

He also said how they had been planning on capturing the other students and having Ilstin’s Dark Guild sell them as slaves.

By the time Cain had finished his explanation, the two’s expressions had become dark.

“L-like this, it m-might turn into a war…”

“Yeah, if something happens again, it will be a war…”

“I somehow managed to prevent it, but it seems like this attack is going to cause a lot of trouble for Esfort and Ilstin…”

However, they couldn’t give an answer representing the kingdom there and then.

So they decided to hurry back to the Kingdom and wait for the king’s decision.

The students apart from Cain and the teachers went ahead to the Kingdom escorted by half of the royal knight Tifana had brought with her.

Telestia and Silk were dissatisfied, but moving that many people with only half the royal knights would have been difficult, so they reluctantly left in the carriages.

“Alright, let’s get started…”

Cain nodded at Tifana’s words, and started packing the captured attackers into the prisoner transport vehicle one after the other.

He stuffed the two prisoner transport vehicles and the cage full of them until they were packed like sardines in a tin can.

“Can I take Baldo and Malph to the royal capital instead?”

“Yeah, I don’t mind. Naturally, we can’t split up the surveillance of this many people.”

Originally, they had planned to keep Malph and his men in the border station, but as splitting up the soldiers was a bad idea, they decided to take all of them to the royal capital together.

First, Cain put one of his hands on the prisoner transport bus Baldo and his men were in, then held Tifana’s hand with the other one.

[Transfer]

The prisoner transport bus, Cain, and Tifana all disappeared from the spot.

◇◇◇

The royal knights in the capital were in a state of emergency, all of them ready and armed.

Because Tifana had run off out of the royal capital upon getting the information and finding out Cain would be attacked, the rest of the royal knights were defending the royal castle.

–– And all of a sudden, an iron box appeared in the training ground.

The knights signalled an emergency by blowing whistles.

The knights ran to the training ground weapons at the ready in groups.

The ones that had appeared there were Tifana and Cain. And the prisoner transport vehicle.

Seeing Cain’s figure, the knights sighed, thinking ‘So it was Sir Silford after all…’.

“We have already apprehended the attackers. We’ve still got a couple of round trips’ worth to carry! Get the prisons ready!”

“““Yes!”””

At Tifana’s words, the knights promptly started taking the attackers down from the prisoner transport vehicle and carried them to the jail cells.

Cain repeatedly used Transfer until all the attackers had been carried to the royal capital.

Once the attackers had all been dealt with, the royal capital’s knights all lined up in front of Tifana.

“So then, now, we will be moving on to –––– the arrest of Marquis Corgino.”

““““!?””””

The knights made surprised faces when Tifana declared they would be going to arrest Marquis Corgino, a higher-rank noble.

“What are you surprised at. The attack’s mastermind is Marquis Corgino. Let us go!”

Shortly before that declaration.

Cain wanted to accompany them, but Tifana had stopped him.

“This is the knights’ job. It would be reassuring if you were there, but then there would be no point in the knights being there. Please explain to His Majesty.”

“…Okay, got it. Take care.”

“––––Okay.”

After giving Cain a hug, Tifana left for Marquis Corgino’s residence, knights in tow, and Cain, having seen them off, headed to the royal castle to explain to the king and Duke Eric.

◇◇◇

“Damnit!! How did they fail when there were that many of them!!”

In a flashily built office, Marquis Corgino kicked his chair, letting his anger show.

Standing next to him was Rigan, who had gotten Malph involved in it all. He had had his people monitor the royal capital, and, having been the first to detect the knights heading for the mansion, he had come to advise Marquis Corgino to flee.

“We have no choice, the attack failed… But still, it’s so far away, how did they… To get in contact so quickly…”

“That is of no importance! First, I have to hide and take some money with me. Arrange for me to leave the country immediately.”

“Yes, as you command…”

Having made sure Rigan had left the office, Marquis Corgino slid up to the frame of a painting he had, and pushed the switch hidden there.

Boom boom boom boom… a bookshelf started moving over to the side, and a passage one person wide appeared.

“I have to take as much with me as I can…”

Marquis Corgino went through the gap.

Inside, there was a staircase, down which he slowly went, then unlocked and opened a securely closed door at the bottom and went inside.

Inside, there was a space around thirty-three square meters large, with countless numbers of boxes full of gold coins lined up, with other ones filled to the brim with gemstones and other valuables right next to them.

It was Marquis Corgino’s secret room, where the whole fortune he had piled up until then was stored.

“To think they’d fail with that many of them… Even though I finally, finally managed to climb all the way up here! It’s that fucking brat’s fault! My plan!!”

While ranting and raving to himself, Marquis Corgino packed more and more boxes full of gold coins into a Magic Bag.

Suddenly, in the room only he should have known about, a voice called out to Marquis Corgino from behind.

{You don’t want to lose, do you… If so––}

The voice echoing directly in his head, Marquis Corgino sharply turned around and made sure he was still alone.

“W-who are you!? I should be the only one to know about this place…”

{––––I shall lend you my power.}

This time, the voice came from a closed box of gemstones.

“The voice came from here…? What is this box…”

Marquis Corgino placed his hand on the lid of the box the voice had come from and tore it open.

  1. I think I understand why the seal on Aaron broke earlier from what the gods thought. What if the gem needs negative energy (since that is what drove him insane I think?).

If Cain hadn’t been sent to that world, Corgino wouldn’t have so much negative energy.

  8. I’m sure Corgino was steadily losing lots and lots of money… yet he still seems to have a treasure room filled to the brim… Unless him complaining about his money losses is akin to Scrooge McDuck losing a penny, It would make sense if 75% or more of his treasure chests were empty… At least half of ’em…

    1. What are you talking about…

He was losing “legal” money, aka. the one that he did not get from illegal sources (like illegal slave trade). It would be stupid to complain about losing money you shouldn’t even have…

The money in this secret room is the illegal vault, probably many times more than he has ‘on paper’.

      1. He was losing both. The Dark Guild was crushed, his company’s illegal slaves trade was crushed, and probably more…
