Cain headed to the reception room to explain.

The king, Eric, and Magna had already been contacted, so he was told by the servants to head there immediately.

After the two of them had waited in the reception room for a few minutes, the king’s trio entered the room.

“Cain, it seems you went and did something again…”

They had already received a rough explanation about the captives from the royal knights. However, as the knights themselves hadn’t received a detailed explanation from Cain either, they had only been able to convey the fact that ‘Parts of the Republic of Ilstin and the Kingdom of Esfort had conspired to attack the students’.

“Cain-kun, could you please clearly explain…”

Cain nodded at Duke Eric’s words, and started explaining what had happened on their trip to Ilstin.

How he had repelled an attack that had been planned by Ghazal’s MP’s son, and the government’s decision.

And how on their way back, they had been attacked.

How Malph from Ilstin was connected to Corgino, and how they had planned on selling Telestia, Silk, and the other students as slaves.

And how at the same time, they had been attacked in a pincer attack by Viscount Baldo from the Esfort side.

As his explanation continued, the king, Eric, and Magna’s faces became more and more clouded with anger.

“What did Corgino do!? Go arrest him at once!”

“I have received a report that the royal knights have already gone to apprehend him. We’ll know immediately if he’s caught…”

Hearing that Corgino had intended on making Telestia into a slave, the king’s face turned red from anger, but Eric and Magna calmed him down, and he heaved a huge sigh when he heard Tifana was leading the knights to Corgino’s arrest.

“Your Majesty, please leave dealing with the Republic of Ilstin to me. To think he was thinking of turning my daughter into a slave… Unforgivable… Don’t you agree, Cain-kun?”

Eric had a gentle expression, but his eyes weren’t smiling at all.

Having been asked for agreement, Cain involuntarily trembled at the dark aura he felt coming from Eric and looked away.

“Alright, Eric. Declaration of war it is! Gather the soldiers immediately!”

“P-please wait a minute!”

Magna tried to stop the king, who was trying to start a war.

“First, we have to consolidate the kingdom. Getting Corgino’s faction under control would be a good start.”

“Mhm, Magna is right… We have no choice but to wait for word of his arrest…”

At that moment, Cain felt a huge magical power in the royal capital.

(What’s this magical power… It’s not human. Nor is it Monster. This magical power is…)

Simultaneously with that, the castle shook as if in an earthquake.

Looking out at the royal capital from the window of the reception room, there was––––

a pillar of fire, rising up to the heavens.

“That’s…”

“Isn’t Corgino’s house in that direction?”

(That magical power is dangerous. Tifana is in danger.)

“Your Majesty, magical power is gathering there. I’ll go help, so…”

“Yes, all right. Help the knights.”

Bowing, Cain Transferred to Corgino’s house.

He had been there once previously to harass Corgino, so he arrived there in an instant.

Looking down from the sky, the mansion was already half-destroyed, many of the knights were lying on the ground, with the around half that remained carrying away the ones who couldn’t move.

Among them, Tifana was on the front line, her sword at the ready.

Cain instantly descended down from the sky.

“I’ll heal everyone! Could the injured ones please gather together!”

He went from group to group, healing them one after the other.

[Area High Heal]

Having cast healing magic on the last group and telling them all to move away from the mansion, he headed over to Tifana.

[Extra Heal]

Tifana started glowing from Cain’s magic, and once the light had disappeared, all the scratches on her had disappeared.

“Cain, you saved us… We had surrounded the mansion and were about to break in, when it just blew up…”

“I’ll take it from here on, you withdraw as well.”

“No, I’ll fight too!”

Right after those words, a sinister killing intent spread out from the mansion.

Unsurprisingly, Tifana broke out in a cold sweat, her expression coloured with fear at the killing intent the likes of which she had never faced before.

Then, the large front door also went flying, and a single man appeared from the half-destroyed mansion.

“To think this much power would come out… this is unexpected. Well, now that I have this new-found power, I might as well become the country’s king.”

The one who had appeared out of the mansion was Marquis Corgino.

However, his hair was pure white, and his belly, which had bulged out quite a lot, now did so slightly less.

And, the most eye-catching of all were his bright-red eyes.

“Those eyes are…”

Cain automatically Appraised Corgino, investigating all the details.

And, his eyes widened at the results.

“No way… an ‘Apostle’…”

Listed in Corgino’s Status was the title ‘Apostle of the Evil God’.

Looking around himself, Corgino sneered when he noticed Cain.

“Oho, if it isn’t Sir Silford. Your head will be the first I send flying… Well, I did get my hands on this body thanks to you…”

Corgino looked down at his body and smiled, then sent a spell flying at Cain.

[Air Cutter]

Cain reacted to the spell cast in an instant with his own, and the two cancelled each other out.

“No way, to think you would be able to oppose me, the Apostle of a god…”

Corgino made a slightly surprised face at his magic being cancelled out, but, being even more elated at becoming an ‘Apostle’, that expression of surprise quickly crumbled as he spread his arms out, inspecting himself.

“T-the Apostle…”

Tifana turned to Cain with a surprised look on her face.

[An ‘Apostle’ is an agent who conveys the will of a god]

It was something anyone would know.

If one were to appear, even the king would have to kneel before them.

And such an Apostle had appeared in front of Cain and Tifana.

“Well, he says he’s an Apostle, –––– but he’s the Apostle of the Evil God…”

Cain pulled out his sword and pointed it at Corgino.

Surprised that Cain’s expression didn’t waver at all, Tifana also pointed her sword at Corgino.

“You know I am the Apostle, yet you still point your swords at me…”

Having become an Apostle, Corgino recognised his own existence as being greater than that of anyone else.

He thought that the country, no, the whole world should bow down to him.

However, the two in front of him were pointing their swords at him even though they knew he was the Apostle.

He became more and more frustrated by their attitudes.

“But will the knight commander be able to take this… Or will the fucking Silford brat become a sacrifice…”

Sneering evilly, Corgino accelerated up to and attacked Cain in an instant.

Completely unfazed by that speed, Cain kept up with him. Flinging away the arm coming at him about to hit him, Cain stepped into the now open space and kicked Corgino in the solar plexus.

The exchange of blows unfolded at a speed even Tifana’s eyes couldn’t follow.

“No way, to think you could keep up with me, who has become the Apostle… just what are you…!?”

Cain smiled at Corgino, who was making a disbelieving face.

“Who said you were the ‘only’ Apostle?”

Corgino made a surprised expression at those words.

“N-no way… Is that so, so that’s how it was… That’s why you––”

But his words never got to finish.

With a surprised expression on his face, Corgino’s head slowly slid from his body and fell to the earth.

Then, the now headless body, slowly and powerlessly falling forwards, collapsed.

“––Don’t just go around talking during a fight. You were full of openings.”

Spotting an opening and swinging his sword in an instant, Cain had cut off Corgino’s head.
