The reception room became silent at Seto’s words.

Cain looked back down, only to see a serious-faced king.

“Cain… should I hand over being the king to you?”

Cain reflexively vigorously shook his head at the king’s words.

“Weeell, if it’s Cain-kun, he’d be able to do it. World domination.”

Cain smiled bitterly at the words of Duke Eric, who stayed smiling even in such situations.

“No, it was just Seto’s joke. Please don’t take it seriously.”

Cain had no interest in world domination or anything like it. Avoiding the possible war with the demons was more important currently.

“Well, it’s not that you can’t do it, it just seems like you have no interest in it. But still, going to the country of demons to talk… We have no choice. I want to have someone accompany you, but Lisabeth-dono, would that be possible?”

“Regardless of country, we demons treat people based on their combat power. Nobody would listen to a weakling no matter what they said. It would be possible if they were strong, but do you even have anyone equivalent to Cain?”

Silence ran through the room at Lisabeth’s words. There was no-one with equivalent combat power to Cain.

The king sighed, then opened his mouth to speak.

“Lisabeth-dono, you want to avoid war if possible? Could you please cooperate with Cain to make that happen?”

“Of course. I do not hate humans. And I especially like the food at Cain’s house.”

The king smiled bitterly at the innocently smiling Lisabeth.

Then, Cain’s going to the country of demons was officially approved.

Cain had his position as margrave, but the territory outside Drintor hadn’t been handed over to him yet.

Magna had explained to him that the towns’ account books had been tampered with on a large scale by Corgino, and that they were currently in the middle of reviewing everything.

Receiving the report that it would still take a few months until the territory could be handed over to him, Cain had been relieved.

(I wouldn’t be able to do anything if it were handed over to me now…)

“Explain everything properly to Silk and the others too. They’d be really angry if they found out you just went off to a foreign country without telling them.”

Cain nodded at Duke Eric’s words.

Cain’s body knew all too well how scary angering Telestia and Silk was.

“Cain, try to avoid war. A war would not be a problem for just our country. I will get in contact with the other countries after this, in order to be able to deal with anything that might come up.”

Cain nodded with a grim face at the king and his serious expression.

Leaving the royal castle, Cain Transferred from his mansion to Drintor, where Darmeshia was already getting things ready for them to go to the country of demons.

“I have finished packing Lisabeth-sama’s luggage. Cain-sama, yours as well.”

Cain put all the luggage in his Item Box one after the other.

“Cain, just leave things to me while you’re away.”

“Please take care of things, Alec-nii-sama.”

Cain bowed lightly.

“Then, I’ll take us all to my country. The Empire has measures to block transfer magic, see.”

Cain could also use transfer magic, but he had never been to the demon countries before. One could only go to places one had been to at least once before already with transfer magic. Thus, either Seto or Darmeshia had to use the magic.

Cain, Lisabeth, and Darmeshia grabbed onto Seto, and the four of them Transferred.

“It would be nice if he didn’t cause trouble again, but…”

Muttered Alec to himself, left behind alone in the reception room.

The destination of their Transfer was a wide hall like the audience room with the king.

The ceiling high up above them was coloured with paintings, and the place had an atmosphere not unlike that of the Kingdom of Esfort.

“This is my castle’s hall. I’ll show you to the guest rooms.”

Perhaps having noticed that Seto had returned, a number of female demons wearing maid outfits appeared.

“Seto-sama, welcome bac– …what!?”

The maid made a surprised expression upon seeing Darmeshia.

While he was once one of the Four Heavenly Kings, he had now retired.

When he had been one of the Four Heavenly Kings, he had been the one who had managed the castle, so the maids had a lot of respect for him.

“P-perhaps, Darmeshia-sama is making his return…?”

However, Darmeshia shook his head.

“I already serve Cain-sama here, so I will not be returning to this castle. More importantly, show Her Imperial Highness to her room, would you…”

Their eyes widened even more than before at Darmeshia’s words and as they looked at the girl with him.

“P-Please excuse me for my rudeness. I shall show you there immediately. While it’s being prepared, I shall show you to a reception room.”

Taking the lead, one of the maids showed Cain and the others to a reception room.

“Here.”

“Hm, what a good choice.”

“Y-yes! Thank you very much!”

The maid’s cheeks dyed themselves red at being complimented by not Seto, but Darmeshia, and she bowed deeply.

The four of them sat down facing each other in the reception room they had been shown to.

“First I’ll have to call everyone in…”

Although Seto was moving in order to prevent the war, there were quite a lot of people who belonged to the pro-war-faction.

They had to see Lisabeth in order to know that there was no need for war.

“Lisabeth-sama, I’ll have the higher-ranking demons of this country gathered in two days. Could you please show yourself then?”

Lisabeth nodded enthusiastically at Seto’s suggestion.

“All right. We have to get this country to cooperate first before we can do anything.”

Lisabeth came from the imperial family, but she was not the next empress. Also, as a beautiful girl, she was known far and wide, and while she didn’t hold much influence, she was still imperial royalty and a symbol for the demon countries, and a country ruled by humans turning her into a slave would definitely be the beginning of a war.

Thus, they decided to show Lisabeth to the masses, hoping to extinguish their feelings of wanting to go to war.

Then, two days passed.
